HeltiQ Burn Compress

HeltiQ Burn Compress is a hydrogel-saturated compress that cools first, second and third degree burns immediately. You use the compress as first aid in the initial phase of the burn when there is no water at your location, or on parts of the body that are difficult to cool with lukewarm water, for example the face. You can also use the burn compress as a supplement to cooling with lukewarm water.

The hydrogel in the burn compress consists of 90% purified water, disinfectant Tea Tree oil and a gel-forming ingredient. This makes it thicker than water, does not evaporate and continues to cool the burn. The heat in the damaged skin is transferred to the hydrogel. The gel then does not retain this heat but releases it directly to the environment. This quickly removes the heat from the burn and prevents further damage to the tissue. In addition to heat extraction and cooling, the gel layer protects the burn from harmful bacteria, which reduces the risk of infections.

Keep the compress on your burn for at least 30-50 minutes. The compress is most effective covered or uncovered for the first three hours. HeltiQ Burn Compress does not stick to the wound, is sterile packed and is ready for immediate use. The compress is also very suitable for minor abrasions or insect bites and can be used once.

Application:

1. Open the package and take out the compress.
2. Place the compress on the wound and pour the remaining gel from the sachet over the compress. Keep the compress on your burn for at least 30 – 50 minutes.
3. Fix the compress lightly with a fixation bandage and secure with a adhesive bandage. Leave the compress on for a maximum of 3 hours.
